W. Scott Brier, piano
W. Scott Brier, a seasoned teacher and performer, teaches individual piano lessons at Brooklyn Arts Music Academy in downtown Wilmington. His extensive experience as a church and school choral, band, and orchestral director gives him a unusual ability to meet a student where they are and assist them in growing to the best of their potential.
From an early age, Scott showed interest in music and became involved with school and church groups singing and playing piano. He then went on to receive a B.S. in Music Education in Wisconsin and a M.S. in Sacred Music Conducting in Florida. With over thirty five years of teaching experience all over the Midwest, Scott has always continued to educate himself by earning certifications from the NCCSA Advanced Professional Teaching Certificate in Secondary Education and a Certificate in Choral Conducting from the University of Michigan. He is also an active member of the National Association of Music Education and of the American Choral Directors Association.
Currently, Scott directs the elementary, middle, and high school bands; conducts middle school and high school choirs; and teaches individual music lessons at Wilmington Christian Academy. In his free time, he loves spending time with his family and taking walks on the beach with his wife.
