Who We Are
Our mission is to change lives through music by providing accessible, exceptional music education to students of every age and skill level in order to create competent musicians and better global citizens.
Founded in 2018, Brooklyn Arts Music Academy (BAMA) brings comprehensive, engaging, and creative music education to downtown Wilmington. BAMA is a non-profit 501(c)(3) providing music instruction that benefits students far beyond the realm of music. Brooklyn Arts Music Academy currently reaches over 130 students with individual music lessons and 450 students in its Music Is Life! program.
The Brooklyn Arts Music Academy is a premiere classically-based music school in the Cape Fear Region that prepares students for music careers and a life-long love of music. They also nurture students to develop positive character traits to help them grow into better global citizens. BAMA instructors teach the whole child to pursue excellence and inspire students to become great musicians. Currently BAMA offers private lessons on cello, violin, viola, harp, piano, and group classes for all instruments.
BAMA’s Music Is Life! program provides free music classes for preschool children in New Hanover County. Students studying at BAMA benefit from instruction by outstanding artist-educators, a supportive environment, and a classically-based music education.
BAMA does not discriminate on the basis of race, age, sex, national origin, physical or mental disability, or religion in its educational programs, activities, or employment practices. The Brooklyn Arts Music Academy is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
