Tabitha Vedder, harp
Originally from Washington State, Tabitha Vedder has enjoyed making music ever since she started singing with her church and community choirs as a child. She started taking music theory classes as a teenager and enjoyed them so much that she decided to major in music education, with a proficiency in voice. While pursuing her degree, she had the opportunity to perform in vocal ensembles each year and to study instruments such as harp, piano, recorder, and flute. She also performed in Bob Jones University's production of Il Trovatore and sang the role of Miss Todd in a student production of The Old Maid and the Thief.
Tabitha graduated summa cum laude in 2014 with a Bachelor's of Science in Music Education. She earned her South Carolina teaching certificate the same year.
Since relocating to Wilmington, Tabitha has participated in a variety of musical endeavors such as singing with the Cape Fear Chorale and singing in Opera Wilmington's Carmen, La Boheme, and The Magic Flute. She has been teaching with BAMA's Music Is Life! program since 2021. Tabitha has been playing the harp for about five years and is currently pursuing certification as a Certified Clinical Musician through Harp for Healing's Clinical Musician Certification Program.
In her free time, Tabitha also enjoys gardening, reading, and creating handspun yarn.
