Wilmington Bach Double Concerto Competition

The Brooklyn Arts Music Academy (BAMA) is pleased to be hosting our first annual Bach Double Competition. Winners will perform with the Tallis Chamber Orchestra in concert on April 26, 2019.

Eligibility
The Wilmington Bach double competition is open to all violin students grades 10 and under.

Audition Date
All auditions will be held on Saturday, March 23rd 9:30—11:30 AM at the Brooklyn Arts Music Academy (202 N. 5th Ave.).

Repertoire
Violinists should perform either part one or part two of the first movement of J. S. Bach's Concerto in D minor, BWV 1043.

Accompaniment
Piano accompaniment is required for each audition. An accompanist will be provided by the Brooklyn Arts Music Academy at no additional charge; however students may choose to bring their own accompanist with whom they have rehearsed.

Rules
The concerto movement must be performed from memory.

Winners
2—4 winners will be selected to perform with the Tallis Chamber Orchestra on April 26, 2019. At least one student will be selected from each age bracket: grades 7 and under, and grades 8—10.

Fee and Application Deadline
Early registration fee: $15 (deadline March 1)

Final registration fee: $20 (deadline March 13)

The application fee may be paid online via Venmo @bamamuisc or by check mailed to 202 N 5th Ave Wilmington, NC 28401.

Students will receive their audition time via email no later than March 17.
